You are:

As a member of Data Product Development, you will be responsible for building products that are comprised of Pitney Bowes’ Data initiatives as the Senior Software Engineer. This includes our new eCommerce Software & Data Market Place, which revolutionizes the way Data is distributed and purchased by our customers. You will have a direct hand in contributing to the success of our Data business. This role will sit in Shelton, CT.

You will:

  • You will be responsible for building software for eCommerce Software and Data market place

  • You will take part in all aspects of software lifecycle: requirements analysis, architecture, design, development, reviews, automation, testing, integration, configuration management, and troubleshooting

  • You will work as an integral member of a self-directed agile development team employing a Scrum-based methodology

  • Continuous improvement is part of our DNA, you are encouraged to find new way to do things that will continuously improves daily work

  • Champion and lead change where needed to support the strategy

  • Stays current on new technologies and the digital/eCommerce marketplace landscape

Your background:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you have:

  • At least 5-7 years of relevant software development experience in building products leveraging modern technologies and techniques in software development

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or Equivalent preferred

  • Experience in building software products by leveraging Agile methodology

  • Experience in full stack web application development: UI (Thin client/Web UI), API services, backend server technologies, and Databases

  • Expertise in building software products by leveraging Cloud services (AWS), Web technologies (Angular JS, Node JS), RESTful API services, Server technologies (Jetty or Equivalent), Database technologies (Relational, Columnar, Document), and Data processing (Spark, Hadoop)

  • Programming expertise in Java, Java scripting, and J2E technologies

  • Able to work independently as well as within a geographically distributed agile development team

  • Self-motivated and able to deliver on commitments on-time all the time with quality

  • Proactive & willing to take challenging technical initiatives that may be completely new

  • Ability to troubleshoot and quickly resolve software problems

  • Excellent Written and verbal communications skills are important

  • Advanced problem solving and analytical capabilities
