Your role in helping us shape the future:
As the Financial Reporting Accountant at Pitney Bowes, you’ll join the Corporate Accounting team in Shelton, CT and report to the Consolidations Manager. You will assist with the preparation of standard monthly, quarterly, and annual internal management financial reports and schedules. The role interfaces with Accounting Operations to extract data and reports from Hyperion reporting system to prepare schedules for inclusion in the Company’s comprehensive Internal Management Report. This position will also provide support in connection with financial statement audits, and in the company's testing and documentation efforts under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act 404.
You will:
Interface effectively with various business partners to address and resolve accounting issues identified during the consolidation process.
Propose and record adjusting journal entries if necessary, based on review and analysis of business unit submissions.
Analyze all intercompany activity and work with business units to identify partners and ensure all intercompany activity is properly recorded and eliminated.
Compile SOX documentation, and interface with external auditors in connection with their quarterly and annual audits.
Ability to Analyze stock awards, variable compensation, comparing actuals to forecast and proposing adjusting journal entries where necessary.
Understanding of Restructuring and Financial Statement preparation as plus
Review quarterly earnings release statements and other Investor Relations documents in preparation of quarterly earnings announcements.
Assist and support ad-hoc requests and projects
Your background:
As the Financial Reporting Accountant, you will have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
3 - 5 years of relevant accounting or financial reporting experience with at least 1 year in a consolidation role
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify, understand and document anomalies and variances in financial results
Comprehensive understanding of financial statements
Demonstrated ability to take on advanced and challenging assignments and responsibilities
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and ability to work independently, as well as be a contributing member of a team
Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership.
Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)/ Hyperion Enterprise and proficiency in Excel are a plus
