An enthusiastic, professionally minded individual who is passionate about safety and environmental process and who is excited about taking on a challenging role broadening both knowledge and skill base regarding all aspects of safety, environmental management and product compliance. You are a self-directed individual equally comfortable supporting the Global EHS organization as a sole contributor as well as in collaborative partnerships with senior EHS staff and other stakeholders in building and sustaining a world class EHS Management System.
Actively support the Corporation’s environmental product compliance initiatives and participate in multi-functional product compliance and chemical review team meetings
Play a key role in EHS training by: developing training and communications materials, conducting some of the trainings, and managing the on-line training sent to Pitney Bowes employees.
Manage the Corporation’s injury/illness data base. Act as the Corporate OSHA / BLS Record-keeper providing periodic reports to the Federal agencies and analyses to the lines of business [I would move to the end of the list]
Participate in compliance audits, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions with 10-15% travel
Support senior staff in managing the corporation’s carbon management program attending energy task force meetings and assisting in the collection of carbon emissions data for public reporting
Assist senior staff in managing Resource Conservation and Recovery aspects including waste management, profiles, logistics
Maintain and coordinate updating and publishing of Corporate standards and procedures related to our EHS Management System
As an Environmental and Safety Specialist, you have:
3-5 years of experience in the field of safety and or environmental compliance
Working knowledge of Federal/State Safety and or Environmental regulations
Fully competent in use of Microsoft Office products including WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT
Familiarity with enterprise-wide data collection software such as safety data sheet management, injury/illness record-keeping and reporting, compliance calendar/action tracking
Ability to build rapport and work closely with teams and individuals to accomplish corporate objectives
Eagerness to learn new skills and broaden environmental knowledge and to work collaboratively with both the EHS team and business and product personnel throughout the company
Working towards or achieved professional certification such as CSP,CIH, CHMM
