About the Opportunity
As a Sales Solution Specialist, you will work with the team to drive revenue by selling specifically to the Federal Government sector. As a member of the Pitney Bowes Software business unit, you will have assigned accounts/agencies that you will be responsible to manage and sell our software, data, and services solutions too. Pitney Bowes’ solutions allow agencies to gain greater insight and enhanced decision-making through an array of offerings in Customer Information Management, Customer Engagement Solutions & Location Based Services.
Your career as a Sales Solution Specialist – Federal Government, Civilian Agencies at Pitney Bowes will help you develop skills in partnerships and drive modernization efforts throughout the industry. This position will work out of the Lanham MD Office. Ideal candidates should be based out of the Washington DC metropolitan area.

In this role, you'll join our Digital Commerce team. You will be responsible for:
Build and maintain an active pipeline of qualified leads through selective cold calling, attending industry trade shows, providing product demonstrations, working leads from direct mail campaigns and other marketing campaigns.
Develop and maintain detailed and updated opportunity information in Salesforce.com for each account to insure that the appropriate sales support resources can be available and to assist in the preparation of accurate and timely sales forecasts.
Aggressively build a pipeline of new business to consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue quotas.
Minimum activity standards include weekly customer meetings, discovery sessions to uncover customer business problems, solution demonstrations and ROI and investment presentations.
Ability to work with an internal team of Solution Architects, Sales Engineers and Professional Services representatives to recommend software and service offerings.
Establish the best possible long-term relationship with each prospect and customer so as to maximize future revenue opportunities
1 to 3 years’ experience in business development or inside/outside sales
Experience positioning or selling software solutions
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or similar field of study preferred
Self-starter who can work independently
Proven track history of performance in college and / or professional career
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to craft business solutions
Ability to learn and develop an understanding of technology solutions, software, and analytics as well as applying domain expertise on behalf of corporate clients
Ability to travel up to 50% including overnight
