About the Opportunity

As a Corporate Financial Systems Co-op, you will have the opportunity to work on data visualization projects across the enterprise to produce reporting and analytics for members of the Executive team. You will extract, analyze and create visual data displays. Your internship will provide Information Management and Financial Planning and Analysis work experience with an understanding of the underlying business processes used to support the displayed information.

This is a 4-5 month Co-op that may lead to a Full Time position. The following job activities will be part of the initiative:

  • Supporting Corporate Finance Business Intelligence activities through the use of Tableau software

  • Ability to extract, analyze, discover insights, and present complex data.

  • Develop queries to perform data validation and verification of reports (source tables v/s report values)

  • Dedicate significant time to learning Tableau software for data visualization

  • Translate data requirements into business metrics and build corresponding dashboards.

  • Producing visual dashboard displays based on end user requirements

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • SQL queries for data analysis including financial and operational data needs

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Information Management or Finance

  • Understanding of Database Management applications

  • Proficient in learning new software application

  • Interest in Information Management/Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Intermediate Excel/Access Skills

  • Possess intellectual curiosity to learn current processes and identify areas for improvement

  • High standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized; attention to detail is very important
