Director, Global Logistics Procurement

This role is an executive position with responsibility for enterprise-wide logistics procurement supporting Pitney Bowes business objectives and growth strategies. The successful candidate will provide business direction and/or functional guidance across a broad range of programs, proposals and initiatives for complex, high risk external business relationships. He/she will direct the departments responsible for developing business agreements, spend category management strategies, and monitoring the performance of a global supplier network to deliver sustainable value across the enterprise. You will be responsible for: •Lead the development and implementation of global sourcing strategies and supplier network capabilities across the enterprise to achieve broad business objectives including cost, quality and cash management. •Deliver competitive value by maintaining a deep knowledge of industry best practices, commodity markets, and technology trends in field of expertise •Develop global commodity strategies to leverage global spend, optimize network performance and rationalize supplier network capabilities •Collaborate with senior internal stakeholders to align short-term business priorities and long-term initiatives •Advise senior functional executives, as requires, to optimize business outcomes and manage issues; develop and deploy project plans, milestones, metrics and management systems to achieve desired business results •Rationalize supplier relationships as business requirements dictate •Direct the development and negotiation of complex global agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives •Develop and nurture strategic external business relationships •Represent the interests of Pitney Bowes and its subsidiaries consistent with corporate policy and practices for the purpose of achieving high level business objectives and maintaining an effective business relationship. •Develop and deploy a global supplier relationship management process that ensures an alignment of business priorities, effectively resolves key issues and monitors supplier network performance •Act as the Pitney Bowes contact executive for the most senior executives and the most critical suppliers and business partners •Deploy a global supplier network performance management platform and process; leverage industry best practices, internet technologies, and management analytics/tools to manage tactical results and promote long-term optimum performance •Manage corporate governance and business control programs to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policy, to protect company physical and information assets, and to mitigate enterprise risk factors •Lead and develop a high performing and engaged professional staff, respected for their expertise and strategic insight •Deploy professional development and technical vitality programs to build organizational strength
Qualifications •3-5 years of management experience directing mid-level managers and salaried professionals •4-10 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing and in global logistics and transportation procurement •3-5 years of experience in global logistics and transportation procurement •Demonstrated ability to manage a worldwide supplier network comprised of 250 suppliers •Expert in business negotiations with all levels of external management as well as in relationship management, ability to balance tact and assertiveness to resolve sensitive business issues •Proficient in use of e-procurement processes and optimization tools •Broad expertise across a variety of production-related commodities and services •Excellent interpersonal communication skills •High degree of financial acumen and problem solving abilities
