Build. Deploy. Bridge. Grow. In this role, you’ll join our Global Ecommerce team in New York and report to the Director, Global Ecommerce Engineering. You will be responsible for:
•Lead and mentor an engineering team of 4 team members comprised of software engineers and quality assurance engineers. Constantly working with the team to maximize productivity, efficiency and engagement of the team as a whole. Minimize roadblocks and maximize opportunities to keep all members of the team productive, engaged, and fulfilled in their roles. •Creates a commitment to delivering high quality, unit-tested code, resolving defects quickly and thoroughly, and proactive collaboration with the team to improve their systems knowledge and testing plans. •Mentor professional growth and day to day operational logistics for your team, including new hire recruitment/orientation, expense reporting/time off, resource scheduling and project management, technical training/skills growth, and morale at an individual as well as team level. •Foster an environment of collaboration and trust between your team and the Product Management group. This includes providing credible “good faith” estimates, a balanced and fair presentation of solution alternatives, and a proactive culture of suggesting and implementing enhancements that will make our products more successful. •Hands on development along with your team. Although it’s unrealistic to have the same capacity as rest of your team in coding – you are expected to contribute, perform code reviews, and hold design discussions with your team members. •Assure education, awareness, and adherence of your team to PB’s software development processes and standards, including agile development, automated unit testing, internationalization, usability, scalability, and service oriented architecture initiatives.
