Pitney Bowes Logistics Network Architect in New York, New York
About the Opportunity
In this role, you’ll join our Global Carrier Management team in New York City and report to the Vice President of Global Operations & Logistics in a variety of accountabilities including:
Design and implement new domestic Pitney Bowes as a Carrier business with new Freight and Carrier movement of parcels for the PB Global Ecommerce parcels from Client Warehouses, stores and individual marketplace sellers to Pitney Bowes’ third party fulfillment centers.
Determine the fully landed parcel financial costs & P&L models for each opportunity/lane.
Work with Product management and technology teams to design and drive implementation of the API’s, software and integrations with all sellers to create software tools to generate quotes, labels, paperwork and pickup coordination’s to develop
Design the network to coordinate with Client Warehouse, Transportation Vendor and PBI Hub Operations to arrange pickup, delivery and transit schedules to optimize proper balance of cost and service.
Optimize network to maintain carrier performance KPIs, Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Work Instructions, etc.
Continually monitor the network for process improvement opportunities and work with stakeholders to review, gain alignment and implement.
Work with parcel carriers (ie USPS, UPS, Fed Ex), LTL/FTL trucking providers, PB trucking assets, PB Development, Product and Engineering Teams to set up new freight carriers and define/own ship requirements.
Create shipping quotes for the Sales/Pre-Sales department for potential clients.
Maintain price and strategic analysis on carriers. Analyze and summarize RFQ/RFI received from freight carriers/service providers.
Negotiate best in class rates, service offerings and provide recommendation / feedback on contractual terms.
Work with internal PB departments to establish a volume forecast for all the carriers.
Based on forecast, manage capacity planning with freight carriers and fulfillment center to maintain readiness for weekly/monthly & quarterly capacity.
Develop and implement best practices for logistics processes (FTL, LTL, Intermodal and small parcel) in order to ensure optimization and quality.
Provides reports and analysis on shipment tracking, route analysis, rerouting, and costing.
Advises IT and system users in the development and implementation of logistics systems improvements and changes.
Bachelor's degree. (Business/Logistics/Supply Chain preferred, but not required)
5 of US Domestic Logistics/Supply chain network design experience in parcel ground and air transportation, distribution, and/or freight management.
Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and integrated software applications.
Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis.
Superior organizational skills and ability to perform detailed analysis are required.
Travel occasionally to meet service providers and to PB fulfillment centers.
